This origami- book is meant for everyone who aims to gain geometrical knowledge for a better understanding of the physical world we are inhabiting. Parents can read it together with their children and play with the origami paper enfolding net plans of the building blocks of 5-dimensional space.
While we are usually thought that higher dimensions are „unimaginable“ and even „inconceivable“ (by mathematicians who cannot even imagine a (hyper) sphere themselves, as told by Edwin Abbott Abbott in his novel „Flatland“ in 1884) the ancient Egyptian mythology saves us form this error:
Only recently the Isis & Osiris myth could be deciphered as origami instruction of the unit cells of the 5-dimensional space, named epitahedra (E±) that turned out to be Plato’s 5th ELEMENT.
The tantalizing story of Isis and Osiris as told by the Greco-Roman historian Plutarch in the 1st century in a powerful pictorial language conveys the probably more then 5000 years old concept of space, matter and light personified by Gods and Goddesses and exemplified by their adventures conforming with cutting edge scientific concepts.
Moreover, the story reveals Plato’s 2400 year old riddle about the 5th Element (aka. the Quintessence and the Ether), assigned as ancient symbol of the world:
You’ll discover that the dodecahedron is NOT only the 5th regular solid BUT how the 3-dimensional dodecahedron was meant to be formed from two 3D pentagons (the unit cells of 5D space) and why a four-dimensional dodecahedron can represent the Universe.
We can revisit the geometric hints in the Isis & Osiris myth over and over again, gradually grasping the full significance of this story, which opens a door to infinite wisdom supposedly taught in ancient Egyptian mystery schools.
Finally, we gain insight into the higher-dimensional universe and the beauty of its underlying patterns—as expressed in many ways in Islamic architecture.
Hence, this book aims to combine the knowledge of ancient Egypt with the roots of mathematics of ancient Greece, as taught by Pythagoras and Plato and later conveyed by Muslim scholars, with references to contemporary science in a lively, vivid and literally understandable way.
The book „The Isis & Osiris Myth as Origami Instruction for Plato’s 5th Element“ is going to be published in Arabic and English soon ….
However, it should be made available in as many languages as possible.
